Welcome To Umbria! Visit Spello And Foligno, Where The Spirituality And Art Meet A Foodie Paradise!
EXPLORING ART AND CUISINE IN UMBRIA
We’re meeting in Foligno, in Piazza della Repubblica, emblem of the ancient political and religious power, located in the heart of the city and surrounded by splendid historical buildings.
Here you will be able to observe Palazzo Trinci, with amazing frescoes by Gentile da Fabriano. Our tour guide will show you this beautiful palace and your ticket will allow you to visit the other museums in the building: the Pinacoteca Comunale (Picture Gallery) , the Museo Archeologico (Archaeological Museum) and the Museo Multimediale dei Tornei e delle Giostre (Multimedia Museum of Tournaments and Jousts), a journey through European history, among knights, dames and feasts.
We are going to admire the Duomo di San Feliciano (San Feliciano Cathedral) and the Oratorio della Nunziatella (Nunziatella Oratory), with its spectacular fresco Battesimo di Gesù (Baptism of Christ) by Perugino, and next the private coach is going to take us to a popular winery, where you will taste locally produced wine and the unique oil of Spello, as well as typical Umbrian dishes.
In the early afternoon we are going to visit the charming Spello and the Duomo di Santa Maria Maggiore, which houses masterpieces by great artists who also worked in Vatican City, such as Pintoricchio and Perugino. Next we are going on a stroll through alleyways and beautiful small squares, until we reach the best spots to admire the landscape, which is one of the best features of this delightful town in the heart of Umbria.
6 p.m. transfer to the railway station and return to Rome in the evening.
