CIVITELLA DEL TRONTO: A FORTRESS SHELTERING A PARADISE
We are going on a wonderful journey in Abruzzo, discovering a charming village and its Fortress. It is one of the biggest and most important examples of military engineering in Europe, built in the 16th century under the Spanish dominion and characterized by an elliptical shape covering an area of 25.000 square metres.
Today you can visit this structure, including its imposing squares, ramparts, patrol walkways and the museum of weapons, telling the story of this fascinating place. The landscape is breathtaking, stretching from the peaks of Gran Sasso to the Adriatic Sea.
